Behavioural Assessment
Our assessment clinic offers behavioural assessments for children and adolescents.
A behavioural assessment measures a broad range of problem behaviours. It examines whether a child's behaviour falls outside the age-appropriate range. Behaviours measured may include attention problems, hyperactivity, aggression, anxiety, depression, social problems, somatic problems, and conduct problems.
A behavioural assessment is used to:
-
diagnose problem behaviours (e.g. attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, and conduct disorder)
-
identify mood problems (e.g. anxiety and depression)
-
identify social problems
-
understand behaviours that may be impacting a child's functioning at home and school
-
help develop a behaviour management plan at school, and guide parenting strategies at home

An adaptive behaviour assessment is used to:
-
determine whether a child is showing age-appropriate development in skills needed to function in everyday life
